Maca is a herbaceous plant cultivated at altitudes above 3700 m in the Andes of Peru. Maca grows almost organic with minimal use of herbicides and pesticides as it is a plant resistant to diseases and attacks by weeds and insects. Over 2000 years this plant has been traditionally used in the area where it is grown as a food and as a medicine. The Maca root is a great source of vitamins and minerals. It contains vitamin B12, iron, calcium, zinc, magnesium and is an excellent source of protein.

Maca is beneficial to human health as it regulates hormones and helps women during menopause and during their productive age. Maca increases energy levels, improves sexual performance, promotes bone health, improves skin condition, and contributes to the proper functioning of homeostasis.

Maca is perhaps most popular for her effect on libido. The high protein concentration it contains, strengthens sexual endurance, increases sexual desire in both women and men and fights the chemical agents responsible for erectile dysfunction in men. It also increases energy levels and generates a sense of enthusiasm for sexual activity. Maca root has been associated with increasing sperm count in men, which leads to an increase chances of fertility. Increasing the amount of sperm often increases sexual self-confidence in men, thus the conditions in their personal sex life are improved. In addition to the amount of sperm, Maca also increases their mobility.

In women, Maca regulates hormone levels during menopause and reduces symptoms such as anxiety and stroke during this period. Maka acts as a natural antidepressant, restores positive mood, and reduces stressful hormones during menopause. In addition, Maca' s anti-depressant properties awaken sexual desire and libido to women who usually lose interest during this transition.

Maka is a source of calcium and promotes bone health and strength. It increases  bone density and strength and prevents osteoporosis.

Finally, if Maca is consumed daily, it increases the effectiveness of the immune system. Thanks to its high levels of protein, maca, stimulates the immune system, heals damaged tissue, elevates energy levels and thus contributes to the overall health of the body.

CAUTION! Maca root should be avoided during pregnancy
